Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • Secured 11 expressions of interest and five letters of intent for a manufacturer of biologically based cleaning and degradation products.  The company sold to a strategic buyer that we identified through industry research. 
  • Represented and successfully sold a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of heavy steel dies for aerospace and other industries out of Chapter 11. Secured seven offers and generated a competitive auction that led to a purchase by a strategic buyer at a price nearly 20 percent greater than the initial bid six weeks after engagement began.
  • Secured a competitive auction for a processor of high-performance, heat-reflective interlayers that improve theenergy-efficiency of laminated glass that was in receivership.  This was achieved in spite of the fact that more than 70% of the company’s business was generated by two customers. The company sold to a strategic buyer.
  • Secured four letters of intent for a provider of high-rise window cleaning services.  The company sold to a strategic buyer that we identified through industry research.  
  • Secured four letters of intent for a designer and wholesaler of decorative hardware.  Identified a buyer with strategically valuable supply chain experience and contacts.  The buyer purchased fifty percent of the company and the company has grown significantly under the new arrangement.
  • Represented the debtor-in-possession of a local food processing machinery manufacturer in Chapter 11 in the successful sale of its assets and intellectual property.

Business Plan Writing & Consulting:

  • Created a business plan for a spin-off for a local manufacturer seeking to enter the market for the manufacture of structures used for power transmission.
  • Developed a business plan and financial projections for a new retail business unit for an established chocolate company with international manufacturing facilities.
  • Developed a business plan for a non-profit focused on developing content and advisory services to teach small and mid-size businesses how to implement green business practices. Plan was approved by the client’s governing board and the organization is now raising funds for start-up.
  • Co-authored business plan for start-up with new, patent-protected smoking cessation products. Work included competitive research and recommendations for strategies and partnerships.
  • Authored a plan for a start-up focusing on developing a new form of hospice care with an increased focus on spirituality.

Pro Formas & Feasibility Analysis:

  • Conducted a feasibility analysis for a professional service firm’s proposed partnership with another firm to target the wind-farm development market. Analyzed market data and trends, the fit of the opportunity with the individual firms’ skill sets and strategic plans, compatibility of the two potential partners, and identification of risks and mitigation strategies. Developed and analyzed potential business models, pro formas, and projections of return on investment. Worked with clients to develop a recommendation to management to pursue the initiative, which was adopted.
  • Financial modeling, pro forma, and valuation analysis for a financial services firm exploring a multi-million dollar management buyout.
  • Conducted a feasibility analysis of a seed-stage high-tech company for angel investors considering a potential investment. Assisted in decision by investors not to pursue the investment.
  • Wrote a 55-page report for a $100M+ professional services firm analyzing the economic, demographic, and competitive factors in 10 states and 17 metropolitan areas in order to help inform and guide strategic expansion of the firm. Also developed business plans for the firm’s planned expansion into two new markets
  • A pro forma and business valuation for a bio-fuel start-up seeking early stage funding.

Public Relations and Marketing:

  • Development of a marketing and P.R. strategy for a new online university product targeting the credit union industry. Planned and implemented a media effort that led to five published stories in a 60-day period, including three in the top two weekly industry magazines.
